Kelley has worked in the field of mental health since 2006 with individuals of all ages in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Her interest in working with those experiencing traumatic losses began while assigned to the Phoenix Fire Department's Crisis Response (CR) Unit during her graduate internship. There she recognized the essential need for individuals in crisis to have a mindful and attentive therapeutic presence on the very worst day of their life. Since then she has focused her effort on working in hospital emergency rooms and focusing on the field of crisis response for the last decade. After gaining extensive experience counseling those in crisis, Kelley furthered her training and focus to include traumatic grief and trauma informed care.
Kelley has worked with those who have experienced losses due to miscarriage, suicide, homicide, overdose, accidental death, cancer and prolonged illness as well as sudden losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She also has a special interest in working with veterans and their families, those experiencing domestic violence and abuse as well as survivors of suicide.
Kelley's desire to focus her private practice on grief and loss has been strongly shaped by the loss of a longtime childhood friend, the loss of her father to cancer and brother by suicide.
On her time off, Kelley enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, attending live sporting and music events and spending time with her family. She lives in North Phoenix with her husband, chocolate Labrador Retriever and two cats.
